Change address_format on packing slip, invoice etc

You need to open your database and edit the database entry in address_format table.
ID 1 is default.
Mine for example is now
$firstname $lastname$cr$streets$cr$state$cr$city$cr$postcode$cr$country

$cr indicates a

Further changes can be made in admin/includes/functions/general.php

Joomla – no thumbnails found

Problem: No thumbnails are being created, the page where the gallery should be just shows: no thumbnails found.

Solution:

- Check if thumbs folder in the image folder exists ( for example images/stories/yourfolder/thumbs
If it doenst exist, create it

- Check file permissions are set to writable for yourfolder, thumb folder and the cache folder located in the same location where your index file is. You can set them to 777 to test if this fixes the problem. Make sure to change settings to 755 when finished.

I found that when the system creates the thumb folder I need to change the file ownership, which actually fixes most of my problems!

- check file / folder ownership and update using CHOWN command (on the concole move to images folder for example
cd /var/www/vhosts/yourdomainname.com/httpdocs/images
then enter
ls -la
which will then display file ownership
update using
chown yourusername:psacln *

Joomla -image upload not working

Problem: Images won’t upload through admin, either when creating a page or using the media manager. Error message reads: Unable to move file.

Solution:

First make sure you are uploading in the correct file format! See global Configuration / Media Settings for allowed formats and file size! If thats not the problem:

A) check that flash uploaded is switched off (in Global Configuration / Media Settings)
B) check that folder rights are set to writable, I found it only works by setting the rights to 777 even though this is definately not recommended, but temporarily it works a treat!

C) check file / folder ownership and update using CHOWN command (on the concole move to images folder for example
cd /var/www/vhosts/yourdomainname.com/httpdocs/images
then enter
ls -la
which will then display file ownership
update using
chown yourusername:psacln *
